It widens your observational and associative skills.
Challenging at times. But it must be making more creases in the gray matter. When you >>deliberately<< practice this kind of association, as you do in this app, you are doing it in a no pressure setting . but, over time, practicing this will refine your attention to detail and hopefully improve your ability to see commonalities in things and situations that, in every day life, seem to be unassociated but actually carry a theme. This kind of skill is invaluable - in business, in life . seeing beyond the obvious and discovering threads of commonality -- or conversely, disassociating things that you have previous seen as possessing a common string. I will put a reminder in my calendar to check back in in 4 weeks and report if I have climbed some abstract mountain or conquered or refined my capabilities in these sorts of affairs. Beside, it is fun - play it together with someone - either 2 person team vs 2 person team -- add a timer for an edge. Or play as a group to see who gets it right first. Or just 2 of you - plainly finding that you end up giggling at 3 am from the things you have to say about it.

Lots of fun, with limitations..
I love playing this game and border on addiction to it! I’ve been playing it for many, many years through at least 5 generations of smart phones. As another reviewer mentioned, I have to scrap my puzzle accomplishments and start from scratch over & over again. I find the worst part of playing to be that the system runs out of new puzzles frequently! I move along, solving puzzles and get a screen telling me there are no more puzzles at this time and I must wait for the company to make more, new puzzles! It takes seemingly forever for new puzzles to be released! Finally, I am able to download new puzzles, but once again, they run out and I have a loooong wait for them to generate more! It’s a continuously repeating cycle. I’d like to see an effort to generate a surplus of puzzles so a continuous supply is available to customers to download and play without continuously waiting in limbo for new material!
Years of fun so far but what is Prestige Mode?
I have been playing 4 Pics 1 Word for years. I enjoyed it so much, I bought the premium edition early on to get rid of ads and give the game my vote of support. I’ve finished all of the main game levels and eagerly look forward to the fun themed daily puzzles. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that selecting the main game now asks me if I want to try the Prestige Mode and tells me that won’t be able to reverse my decision. Before I choose Prestige Mode, would it be possible to find out what It is?

Thanks for the feedback and congrats for finishing all levels available at the moment! :)
The prestige mode offers more challenge for puzzle experts like you e.g. you collect new prestige level badges, you get more letters to choose from or the blanks of the solution aren't shown. In later prestige levels, you even have to guess the word with less pictures. ;)

**UPDATED**
Since I first wrote this, I have stumped up the £1.99 for the full version and, believe me when I say that the whole experience is totally enhanced by having no ads.
These people have to fund this excellent app somehow, so it's either pay a couple of quid, or stomach the ads.
I've paid and have gotten to the end of the main game (more levels more often would be nice) and now spend many a toilet visit whiling away the minutes in ad free happiness on the League game, which is excellent.
So.. Two quid, people.. two flippin' quid.. That, or stop moaning!!

This game is really good it passes aloft of time , but the first twenty questions I would say are pretty easy and then it get harder and harder , this game really gets you thinking if you are up for a challenge you can verse other players , the game also works without and WiFi/internet if you want to get your brain in a real thinking posion then GET THIS GAME NOW ..
Not challenging enough!
This game is not very difficult - a five year old could probably get through it pretty easily. If you want a mindless way of spending time then this is probably right for you.
For the free version, it’s understandable that there should be ads, but I’ve never seen a free app with this many interruptions!!! Every 2-3 rounds you get a full screen ad popping up.
Note to the developers: reduce the number of full screen ads, and make the game a bit more challenging so at least it’s worth paying for! Thanks.
